Cuthills Vineyards
Cuthills Vineyards is Nebraska’s first winery. It lies nestled in
the hills of northeastern Nebraska, just north of Willow Creek State Recreation
Area. Ed Swanson chose the 15 1/2 acres for its rolling hills and location,
perfect for growing the 50+ varieties of wine grapes planted in 1985. Swanson,
who has been making wines for over 25 years, remodeled the weathered barn built
in 1920 by John Koeppe, which has served as the winery since 1994. Visitors can
roam through the vines and using the free self-guided tour brochure can follow
the steps from vine to wine. While visiting Cuthills Vineyards, you may stop in
our gift shop and tasting room to sample our international award winning wines,
or enjoy the beautiful Nebraska countryside with a bottle of wine and bread on
our patio.
Since 1995, Cuthills
Vineyards has won over 80 medals in national and international competitions,
including Best of Class, Double Gold, and Gold.
