Start your day north of Lexington at Mac’s Creek Vineyards & Winery, a seven-year-old vineyard on the banks of Spring Creek. Truly a family business, the vineyard and winery is owned and operated by five members of the McFarland family.
Mac’s Creek is unique in that the grapes are grown and the wine is bottled at the same location. You’ll learn how the McFarlands transform their 12 acres of vineyards into award-winning wines. After the tour, sample several wines. Then savor a bottle of your favorite over a picnic basket for two.
When you are ready for some recreation, head southwest to Johnson Lake. Spanning 4,000 acres, the lake is a state favorite for the abundance of walleye and other fish. Enjoy a wonderful dinner of prime rib or steak at Lakeshore Marina Restaurant and Lounge. Dine indoors, or add the relaxing sound of the water to your meal by eating outdoors.
A few blocks away, solitude awaits at the Waterfjord House. This newly remodeled B&B has a large suite that includes a Jacuzzi, a library, and a fireplace. Greet the morning with a cup of coffee on the beautiful patio overlooking the lake.
The Enjoy a Day at the Lake package is available year-round, Thursday–Sunday and includes:
